North Ryde. Ranking of MBA

The Macquarie Graduate School of Management’s MBA program has again been listed as one of the top 100 in the world, ranking at 61, according to The Economist. This is 12 places up from last year’s ranking of 73. The Economist ranks the program as number 2 globally for both ‘student quality’ and ‘post MBA salary’. The school has also ranked as number 1 in New South Wales, 4 in Australia and 6 in the Asia-Pacific region.

Region. Unemployment figures

Five Wetsern Sydney local government authorities were above the number of uunemployed, 5.1 per cent, in the Sydney statistical area, according to the federal government’s Small Area Labour Markets – June quarter, 2012 report: South west Blacktown 10.1 per cent, north west Bankstown 10.2 per cent, south Parramatta 10.3 per cent, north east Bankstown 11.2 per cent and east Fairfield 12.5 per cent.

Parramatta. Rapid transit symposium

Parramatta Lord Mayor, John Chedid, and CEO, Dr Robert Lang, will travel to Perth to gain insights into that city’s rapid transit networks, given council’s $1 million investment in the Western Sydney Light Rail Feasibility Study. They will attend the UIP Asia-pacific Assembly and Rapid Transit Symposium, in November. The final feasibility study report is expected in March 2013.



Parramatta. Council reclassifies property

Parramatta City Council has resolved to classify the property, at 333 Church Street, as “operational” to facilitate the redevelopment of the Lennox Car Park, at the rear of the property. Lidis Group/ Dockside Group won the tender for the redevelopment of the carpark, in July this year.
