Parramatta. Extension of car parks tender

Parramatta City Council has extended the contract for the management of multi-level car parking stations at Wentworth Street, Erby Place, Hunter Street and Horwood Place, in the CBD, to S and K Car Park Management Pty Ltd (Secure Parking) for a further one-year period from 1 May 2010 to 30 April 2011.

North Ryde. Rookie team wins award

The Thunder Down Under team, made up of Macquarie University engineers, industry mentors, more than 20 Sydney high school students and the soccer-playing robot they built, called ‘Wombot', was the first Australian group ever to compete in the U.S. based FIRST Robotics Competition. The team was awarded the ‘Rookie All Star Award' - the highest recognition that a first-year competitor can receive - for their efforts in designing and building Wombot and for their excellent results during the three days of regional competition, in New Hampshire.. Also, the team was presented with a safety award acknowledging the team's attention to and support of a safe working and playing environment.

Region. New commuter car park spaces

New commuter car parks in Western Sydney are being constructed at St Mary’s, Werrington, Katoomba, Emu Plains, Quakers Hill, Seven Hills, Blacktown, Windsor, Schofields and Penrith. The first of eleven new car parks opened at Wentworthville Station last year. The car parks will provide an extra 3500 parking spaces for commuters.
