Windsor. KFC outlet becomes carpark

The former KFC outlet in Windsor, owned by Hawkesbury Council Windsor will be demolished to make way for a carpark and public toilets. KFC had leased the land from council until it closed its franchise on December 29 last year, transferring ownership back to council on March 9 this year.

Parramatta. CBD car parks on the move

Parramatta City Council will investigate a number of potential redevelopment sites, incorporating commuter carparking, as part of a wider strategy to move CBD commuter carparking to the edges on the CBD. A report on the redevelopment of the Macquarie Street and Fennel Street car parks will be prepared for ratification by council.

Werrington. New car park and upgrade

Minister for Transport, John Robertson, officially opened the 74-space Werrington commuter car park and said the station would receive a $2 million transport interchange upgrade. He said car parks in Katoomba, Emu Plains, Quakers Hill, St Marys, Seven Hills, Blacktown, Schofields, Mt Druitt and Penrith either under construction or in the planning stages. “Western Sydney benefited significantly from (the) budget, with more than $400 million to be invested in new transport infrastructure for Western Sydney,” he said.

Region. New commuter car park spaces

New commuter car parks in Western Sydney are being constructed at St Mary’s, Werrington, Katoomba, Emu Plains, Quakers Hill, Seven Hills, Blacktown, Windsor, Schofields and Penrith. The first of eleven new car parks opened at Wentworthville Station last year. The car parks will provide an extra 3500 parking spaces for commuters.
