Parramatta. Legal proposals accepted

Parramatta City Council has accepted proposals for the provision of external legal services from Blake Dawson, Marsdens Law Group, Maddocks, Sparks Helmore, Strorey & Gough and MD Lawyers, and for these providers to comprise the panel of legal services for a period of two years, with an option for a further term of two years.

Westmead. $10 million redevelopment

Ramsay Health Care has announced the $10 million redevelopment of the Westmead Private Hospital, which will include construction of a new wing with private rooms and ensuites. Other key features of the redevelopment are a state-of-the-art operating theatre, an additional 15 beds, two more special care nursery beds and two extra critical care beds in the intensive care unit. The work is expected to be competed by September, in time for the hospital's 10th anniversary in October. “This development will assist us to meet the growing demand for our maternity and other services,” said Carol Bryant, hospital CEO.

North Ryde. Capital Corp outlays $15.8m

Capital Corporation has purchased a 1.8-hectare site in Macquarie Park from Local Government Super, for $15.8 million. Two buildings on the site are leased to TPG Internet and Bard Australia. Capital Corporation’s MD, Steve Grant, said the lack of competition for development sites had allowed his group to spread its focus beyond its home turf in Norwest Business Park., according to The Australian Financial Review. The company now has footholds in Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park and Macquarie Park.

Eastern Creek. CEO wanted for raceway

The Australian Racing Drivers Club (ARDC), which manages the Eastern Creek International Raceway, Sydney’s only international motor sport circuit, has advertised for a chief executive officer. The ARDC regards the position as an opportunity to reinvigorate, develop and grow the facility and create it as an iconic world-class motor sport precinct. The venue operates at capacity, with plans in place for a substantial redevelopment, including a major circuit and infrastructure upgrade, new facilities, accommodation and commercial uses

Parramatta. Parking stations tender deferred

Parramatta City Council will prepare a report on the extension of the existing tender for the management of multilevel Wentworth Street, Erby Place, Hunter Street and Horwood Place car parking stations. The report will address concerns raised by councillors into the initial tender processes as well as investigating the development of a new schedule for fees for parking, in general, on Sundays, including a first two-hours free model to address concerns raised by the business community, and to utlise poor utilisation.

Parramatta. IT tenders declined

Parramatta City Council has declined to accept any tenders submitted in the tender for IT Program Management Services. Council noted that the IT management services will be provided by an alternative approach that does not involve the engagement of a contractor.

Chester Hill. Shopping centre for sale

Expressions of interest in the newly refurbished Chester Hill neighbourhood shopping centre close on April 1. The site has an area of 1672 square metres has parking for 350 vehicles. The centre, which is anchored with a Woolworths Supermarket and 28 speciality tenants, is fully leased with a net income of approximately $2.4 million annually.
