Region. O'Farrell's funding effort

The South West Rail Link or a second harbour crossing would be funded by the federal government and the NSW government would approve the Epping to Parramatta Rail Link under a compromise deal put forward by Premier Barry O'Farrell, according to the Daily Telegraph. The deal has been put on the table in an attempt to cut the impasse on rail infrastructure funding, senior state government sources confirmed. As negotiations continue over the state-backed $7 billion North West Rail Link and the Gillard-backed $3 billion Epping to Parramatta project, Mr O'Farrell suggested Ms Gillard fund the southwest link, which would serve Labor electorates, the paper said.

Sydney Olympic Park. Arena ranked highly

The Acer Arena, at Sydney Olympic Park, has been ranked number two on global performance among live venues for the last 12 months. Industry magazine,Venues Today, ranks the venue ahead of New York City’s Madison Square Gardens and just behind London’s O2 Arena, in ticket sales rankings.

Parramatta. Office conditions tight

The Parramatta office market continues to be shaped by the very limited tenancy options for A and B-grade stock, according to Knight Frank’s latest Parramatta office Market Review. Excluding the 25,600-square-metre, A-grade Eclipse Tower, at 60 Station Street, which is scheduled to be complete in August 2012, no new supply is forecast to reach the market until at least 2104, meaning tight conditions will continue over the next few years.
