Holroyd. $118.4m business park proposed

Dexus Funds Management Limited proposes to construct and operate the $118.4 million Dexus Estate Industrial Park, including warehouse and distribution centres with ancillary offices, on a 47-hectare portion of the Greystanes Southern Employment Land, within the former Prospect Quarry. Some 800 workers would be employed on construction and 2400 when operational. The proposal is on public exhibition until July 20.

Campbelltown. Bunnings facility sold for $21m

Fortius Funds Management Active Fund Number 1 has sold a 13,348-square-metre warehouse at Campbelltown, for $21.4 million. The warehouse, which sits on a 2.55-hectare block, is leased to Bunnings for a 12-year term, with a net income of $1.6 million.

Bankstown. Airports as film locations

Sydney Metro Airports Bankstown and Camden have unveiled a film studio showing the scope and possibilities of the airports as filming locations. Kim Ellis, CEO, of Sydney Metro Airports has developed the Sydney Metro Airport Studios website to show the vast capabilities of the airports. The website highlights the wide array of filming landscapes and associated infrastructure at both airports, including aviation related to non-aviation features, plus the types of aircraft available. Recently the Airports hosted production of TV dramas All Saints and Underbelly Series 2, and the BBC Series, Top Gear, as well as a product launch for VW, fashion shoots and several TV commercials

Wetherill Park. Retailer closes warehouse

Clive Peters, consumer electronics retailer, has closed its NSW warehouse, at Wetherill Park, several under-performing stores and slashed annualised costs by 20 per cent, in a bid to return to profitability. “The worst is over because we’ve re-engineered the model and our assumption for 2010 is based on no improvements in retail conditions. The plan is, when the cycle does eventually turn, to try to leverage off that same cost base and improving revenues, which will go straight to the bottom line,” said MD and major shareholder, Greg Smith, in The Australian Financial Review.

Holroyd. Redevelopment of facility

Holroyd City Council has called for tenders for the redevelopment of the Shooting and Pigeon Club facilities, at Hyland Road, Greystanes. Council is also calling for tenders for the provision of banking services
