Minto. $800,000 printing contract

The Australian Taxation Office has awarded an $800,000 contract for Tax File Number Declaration forms to The Camerons Group, at Minto. The ATO said the 2011 contract would run until the end of June. The ATO said Camerons was one of two companies on its tender panel that had the capabilities to run this year's job. "TFN Declarations are one of the most time-critical products given the legislative requirement to provide a TFN within 28 days of employment," said the ATO.

Liverpool. Upgrade to meet demand

The Northumberland Street car park will undergo significant improvements in the near future as part of the Liverpool CBD Car Parking Strategy to improve the availability of parking by increasing the turnover of both on-street and off-street parking and meet both current and future demand. Sime Darby Motor Group has leased 2,274sq.m of space at 350 Parramatta Road, Homebush. The office space has been leased from the Goodman Group for a 4 year term at a net rent of $250/sq.m

Parramatta. State of the City

Parramatta’s premier business function, the State of the City Address, which attracts over 300 guests each year and provides a clear snapshot of the city’s achievements and future targets will be held at the Sebel, on Friday, 29 April, between 12:30pm and 2:30pm. This year’s speakers include Lord Mayor of Parramatta, John Chedid, who will highlight major developments over the past 12 months and along with Parramatta City Council CEO, Dr Rob Lang, outline council’s ‘vision’ for the City The address will also discuss what Council and business can do to encourage further investment in Parramatta.

Liverpool. Council buys property for $19.1m

Liverpool City Council has bought the 23-year-old property, at 33 Moore Street, which it currently uses since a fire destroyed if former offices, at Hoxton Park Road, for $19.1 million. Council's general manager, Farooq Portelli, said that after an analysis and review of the options with advice from both internal sources and external consultants, it was clear that the purchase of 33 Moore Street was the best option. The building, which requires $4.5 million in the short to intermediate term in upgrade works, has a capacity for further development opportunities with the neighbouring property, he said.

Penrith. 'Regional city of the future'

Penrith City Council has plans in place to design the “regional city of the future”. “While there appears to be a lack of development in the city, council’s people and places group manager, Roger Nethercote, said many areas had planning controls in place to encourage substantial development. Mr Nethercote said the plans tied in with the council and Penrith Business Alliance’s plans to create 40,000 new jobs and 25,000 new houses by 2031. These numbers were based on the previous state government’s Sydney Metropolitan Plan for Sydney 2036.
