Parramatta. Tender submissions rejected

A recommendation will be discussed at the Parramatta City Council meeting, on Monday, February 28, to reject all submissions received on the Parramatta River Foreshore Activation tender and to open negotiations with interested parties. Expressions of interest were advertised in December for the operation of small watercraft, kiosk/mobile vending carts, and an outdoor cinema. Cinema operators were contacted, with one initial enquiry but no submission was received as the operator felt that council would need to heavily contribute to the required capital outlay. “The reason for the recommendation is because there is no obvious anchor operator amongst the applicants. It is understood that other ancillary services and activities such as coffee carts and on-water operators will be more successful if a significant operator can be identified and secured,” the recommendation noted.
