Free Wi-Fi internet in Parramatta is stalled
The NSW Government's plan to have a free wireless internet service in Parramatta, North Sydney, Penrith, Liverpool, Newcastle, Wollongong and the Sydney CBD by the end of the year is not on the cards. The Department of Commerce said 15 expressions of interest were submitted and these were still being evaluated. "The proposals were both innovative and diverse ... the NSW Government expects to be in a position to make an announcement soon", a spokesperson for the department said.
