Use waterways says lord mayor

Parramatta Lord Mayor, Paul Barber, said it was time to use the west’s waterways as peak-hour trains to the Sydney CBD were full and the roads were gridlocked. “Consistent with the (metropolitan strategy) is makes sense to not only keep the ferry service to Parramatta, but build its commuter viability,” he said, while maintaining council’s momentum to save the RiverCat service to Parramatta, which a report recommended be stopped.

Parramatta RSL to liquidate and merge

Members of the Parramatta RSL Club have voted to appoint a liquidator and transfer all of their club’s assets to the bigger and more financially stronger namesake at Castle Hill. The declining and ageing membership base was given as the reason.
