St Marys. Water education centre opened

The NSW government’s new Water Recycling Education Centre, in St Marys, has been officially opened. The centre uses state of the art education and training technologies to explain the role of water recycling in securing Sydney’s water supply. The centre, which is part of the $209 million St Marys Water Recycling Plant, .is designed for universities, TAFE colleges and high schools, professional and trade groups, and key community groups

Parramatta. Business college relocates

The Parramatta campus of the Australian Business College has relocated from Macquarie House, on the corner of Macquarie and Smith streets in the CBD, to 85 George Street. Macquarie House, owned by Parramatta City Council, will eventually be demolished and the site will be incorporated into council’s $1.6 billion Civic Place project. Australian Business College, which has campuses at Liverpool and Wollongong, The college has been preparing school leavers, since 1996, for their future careers and assisting individuals to re enter the workforce or to pursue new directions.

Penrith. MBA-type course FOC

The Penrith City and District Business Advisory Centre will offer a Master of Business Administration-type program free of charge early next year. Funding for the course has been provided through the Penrith Business Alliance's business growth training grants program. Advisory centre executive officer, John Todd, said the program was aimed at businesses with at least five employees and potential for growth.

Parramatta. New educational facilities

Parramatta City Council has on public exhibition a DA for the occupation of the ground and first floor of a commercial building, at 25 Cowper Street, as an educational establishment for up to 300 students. Also on exhibition is a DA for a proposed educational college for hairdressing and associated hair salon, in the Commonwealth Bank building, on the corner of Church and George streets, in the CBD. The applicant is Quick and Farst Pty Ltd. The Parramatta & District Synagogue has approval to use an existing hall as a school for 20 students, at 114-118 Victoria Road.
