Parramatta. Stadium Trust demise

Businessman, Jim Taggart, and CEO, of the Sydney Olympic Park Business Association, Karen Grega, are two members of the Western Sydney Local Venues Council, which has replaced the Parramatta Stadium Trust. Other members are Craig Gallagher, Mark Birkinshaw and Ern Phang. The NSW government established Venues NSW to manage government owned sporting and entertainment venues in the Hunter, Western Sydney and Illawarra.

Parramatta. Stadium's new authority

NSW Minister for Sport and Recreation, Graham Annesley has unveiled plans for a new authority that will oversee Parramatta Stadium along with venues in other key regions. Called Venues NSW, the authority will boost opportunities to secure sporting and other major events for Parramatta, the Illawarra and the Hunter. Previously, the Parramatta Stadium Trust, within the Office of Communities, manages the stadium for the government.

Parramatta. Six million through the gates

More than six million people have passed through the gates of Parramatta Stadium, since in opened 25 years ago, in March 1986. The stadium, built by Civil and Civic, is managed for the NSW State Government by the Parramatta Stadium Trust, within the Department of Communities NSW, and is self-sustaining in regard to operational and minor works funding. The trust has recently approved a master plan that on completion will establish a 30,000-seat boutique stadium, The master plan can be staged, and an estimated cost of the completion of the plan is $98 million, with the first stage of developing the east and west grandstands having an estimated cost of approximately $34 million.

Parramatta. Trust members reappointed

Members of the Parramatta Stadium Trust have been reappointed for another four-year term, by Kevin Greene, Minister for Sport and Recreation. Trust members are John Brown, Doris Drewery, Denis Fitzgerald, Craig Gallagher (chairman), Alan Overton, Pam Smith (deputy chairwoman) and Patrick Smith.
