Ainsworth Technology, in Newington, sold 565 poker machines – up 41 per cent – in the last three-month period and saw its market share rise to 23 per cent from 19 per cent a year earlier.

The company opened a 4650-square-metre site in Las Vegas, late last year, replacing a smaller facility in Florida.

Newington Revenue up 55 per cent

During the financial year 2011 reporting period, Ainsworth Game Technology, at Newington, achieved significant growth within Australia, with domestic revenue increasing 55 per cent from $48.2 million during the financial year 2010 to $74.7 million for 2011. Domestic revenue represented 76 per cent of total revenue, with the largest contributors being the NSW and Queensland markets, which accounted for 89 per cent of domestic revenue. International revenue was $23.3 million, compared to $21.0 million for the previous corresponding period, representing an 11 per cent increase.

Newington. Poker machine sales up

After poker machine company, at Newington, Ainsworth Game Technology’s profits were held back in recent years by high research and development costs, the expense of entering new markets overseas and a coinciding lack of scale at home, its growing sales are finally flowing through to the bottom line, according to CEO, Danny Gladstone. The company controls a little more than 8 per cent of the Australian market in terms of installed machines, but its share of shipments has been tracking well above that level for more than a year.
