Region. 'Tough start to 2009'

Western Sydney business owners are facing a tough start to 2009 with a recent survey showing a slump in confidence as they continue to weather the global financial crisis, and tough trading conditions according to Paul Brennan, president, of the NSW Business Chamber Western Sydney. The latest ACCI Survey of Investor Confidence shows current business trading conditions are at their lowest level since the survey began in 1998. “With investor confidence at a ten year low, what we need to see is a turnaround in confidence to get the economy moving and to secure the jobs of the residents of Western Sydney,” said Mr Brennan who is CEO and director, of the ASP Group, at St Marys.
