The Minister for Finance and Services, Greg Pearce, has officially opened the Rosehill Recycled Water Scheme and the Fairfield Recycled Water Plant in Western Sydney. NSW has the first private scheme for high grade recycled water and supports the government’s commitment to increase the use of recycled water.The scheme will supply over three billion litres a year of high quality recycled water to five major industrial customers in the Rosehill and Smithfield areas and a number of smaller industrial and irrigation customers. The scheme has the potential to supply a further four billion litres a year for additional commercial customers in the surrounding areas of Parramatta, Westmead and Wetherill Park AquaNet and Veolia will operate and maintain the scheme and supply recycled water under a 20 year agreement,” Mr Pearce said.
