Blacktown. 'Seething' over snub
Blacktown City councillors are seething over what they perceive as a snub from state and federal governments over the lack of investment and more jobs in the city, according to the Blacktown Sun. They believe if just one or two major government departments were based in Blacktown, it would be a catalyst for further investment in the CBD.
The council has been left to count the number of times it has been spurned for Parramatta or Penrith, the paper said.. Council general manager Ron Moore told the meeting his staff were looking at ways to promote investment in the city. New planning instruments would encourage development and "improve the way people think about Blacktown CBD", said council GM, Ron Moore.
