Region. Former Manly CEO for AFL spot

Former Manly premiership-winning chief executive, Grant Mayer, has become the first senior manager appointed to the AFL's new $200 million Western Sydney franchise, currently known as Team Greater Western Sydney. He will be GM commercial, overseeing all finances for the fledging club, including sponsorship, marketing and merchandise. The franchise will be based at Rooty Hill and will be part of the 2012 AFL season.

Blacktown. Unveiling of $27.5m facility

Andrew Demetriou, CEO, of the Australian Football League, will announce its advisory board, at A Western Sydney Business Leaders function, at Blacktown City Council’s unveiling of the $27.5 million ASFL/cricket venue, at Blacktown Olympic Park, on July 3. The Western Sydney AFL Foundation Club corporate function, will be launched at ANZ Stadium, at Sydney Olympic Park, on August 15.
