Region. Aldi plans new centre

German discount supermarket chain, Aldi, with headquarters at Minchinbury, plans a new quality products in the metropolitan area, as part of a $1 billion capital works program in the next three years, including an upgrading of 150 of its 203 stores nationwide. Parramatta City Council has approved the demolition and construction of a 2 storey mixed use development containing an Aldi supermarket, on the corner of Kleins and Brians roads, Northmead. Aldi stores in the Parramatta area include Parramatta CBD, Rosehill, Wentworthville and North Rocks. Aldi entered the Australian market in 2001.

Guildford. Aldi supermarket gets the OK

German discount supermarket group, Aldi, has approval from Parramatta City Council to build a supermarket, on a former car yard, on the corner of Oxford Street and Woodville Road, Guildford. He estimated cost of construction is $6.6 million.

Guildford. Aldi proposes new supermarket

The German discount supermarket group proposes to construct a store, on a 2782-square-metre vacant car sales site, on the corner of Woodville Road and Oxford Street, Guildford, with basement parking for 69 vehicles. The estimated construction cost is $6.6 million

Minchinbury. Aldi expands

Aldi, the German discount supermarket plans to invest $1 billion over the next three years, including $30 million on a quality control centre, at its Minchinbury headquarters, $340 million on two new warehouses, in Sydney and Melbourne and the balance on new stores, according to “The Australian Financial Review”. The company recently opened a 800-square-metre store in the Parramatta CBD and is planning one in Northmead.

Aldi opens in Parramatta CBD

German supermarket giant, Aldi, will open a store in George Street, in the heart of the Parramatta CBD, on Thursday June 26. The store, which has retail area of 800 square metres and will stock some 800 lines, will employ between 10-15 workers. It will open at various times, seven days a week. The company has a DA before Parramatta City Council for a 1000-square-metre outlet on Briens Road, at Northmead.
