Blacktown. Preparing for sales boom

Stakeholders in the $650 million Stonecutters Ridge housing and golf estate, in Colebee, are preparing for a sales boom after a land deal with Ashlar Golf Club was struck earlier this month, according to the Blacktown Advocate. Australand said it had made a deal to secure the 38-hectare Ashlar Golf Club site in Blacktown. The club will move to the 18-hole championship golf course in time for February’s grand opening. The news has spurred a buying blitz from prospective homeowners for stages one and two of the development. Stage three, the Club House Precinct, is still under construction but has yielded 2000 expressions of interest, according to Stonecutters Ridge project director Lloyd Gomez.

Blacktown. Undisclosed sum for site

Australand has expanded its residential development business after it secured the 38-hectare former Ashlar Golf Course, in Blacktown, for an undisclosed sum. The site will be redeveloped into a master-planned housing community close to the Blacktown city centre. The golf course is being relocated to new premises at the Stonecutters Ridge Golf Course in the first half of next year. Australand's executive general manager, Rod Fehring, said the latest deal was consistent with the group's focus to increase its residential presence in NSW. Subject to approvals, the development was expected to yield up to 700 dwellings with ''a variety of high quality housing solutions and associated amenity''.
