Blacktown. $16 million first stage opened

Blacktown City Council has officially opened the $16 million first stage of the three- stage Blacktown Showground. The total cost of the development is expected to be more than $70 million.

Work will begin in early July on the $16 million. redevelopment of Blacktown Showground after it was passed in the 2011/12 council budget The project will see the demolition of the existing buildings at Francis Park and the construction of a synthetic running track, playground, showroom and grandstand to cater for conferences and finally, an arts and culture precinct.
