horsely Park. Mural to Oprah on the M7

Brickworks’ Austral Bricks division has started to erect a 100-square-metre brick mural of Oprah Winfrey outside its Horsely Park plant along the M7. Brickworks had tried to showcase its brick work closer to the Opera House, where the TV celebrity will perform this month, with no avail, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

Eastern Creek. $22.1 million sale

Brickworks has exchanged contracts for sale of two lots at the M7 Hub industrial estate at Eastern Creek The Brickworks/Goodman JV has secured agreement for the sale of the largest remaining lot in the estate, for $22.1 million. Settlement is expected no later than January 31, 2011, subject to securing subdivision, development and FIRB approva. A further lot owned directly by Brickworks was sold for $2.07 million representing a rate of $360 per square metre. This deal is unconditional and settlement is also scheduled for late January 2011.

Application approved

A V Jennings has had its application approved for the construction of 32 dwellings, in the first and second stage, of its residential project at the former Eastwood Brickworks. The estimated cost of the project is $9.3 million. Absolute Waterfront Apartments has had its application approved for a change of use of space from commercial purposes to accommodate professional offices, at 101a-105/22 Charles Street, in the Parramatta CBD.
