Parramatta. Launch of bridge fountain

Promoted by Parramatta City Council as a “landmark’ project – there are only two others in the world – the bridge fountain on the Barry Wilde bridge, in the Parramatta CBD, will be launched on Thursday, July 26. “The Barry Wilde Bridge Fountain will complement a number of works planned along the foreshore and help make this important precinct a more attractive place for residents, workers and visitors to Parramatta, ” said Lord Mayor, Lorraine Wearne. The fountain pumps 110 litres of water per second from the Parramatta River and incorporates water, light and colour to form a visual and sensory experience.

Parramatta City Council is calling for tenders to design and construct a LED-illuminated curtain fountain off the downstream face of the Barry Wilde Bridge, in the Parramatta CBD, using treated water from the Parramatta River.
