Castle Hill. Bunnings' $60 million store

Castle Hill is the site of Bunnings’ largest NSW store. Bunnings invested more than $60 million developing the huge 19,000 square metre multi-level warehouse, which includes car parking for more than 650 cars. With more than 210 new employees the store is expected to inject a significant level of direct investment into the local community.

Region. Bunnings applications

The Sydney West Joint regional Planning Panel will consider, on June 14, an application by Bunnings Properties Pty Ltd for the demolition of existing structures, subdivision of one allotment into three allotments, erection and use of a hardware warehouse, on a 8.4-hectare site, at 316 Victoria Road, Rydalmere. On June 21, the panel will consider an application for a Bunnings Hardware store development, at Marsden Park. Capital investment value: $13.9 million.

Bunnings Properties Pty Ltd has lodged a DA for a Bunnings Warehouse with subdivision, at 316 Victoria Roda, Rydalmere, at an estimated cost of $17,160,000.

Seven Hills. Warehouse on the market

Bunnings Warehouse, at Seven Hills, is one of six properties in NSW, Queensland and Victoria on the market in one of the largest sale and leaseback offerings of the year, according to The Australian Financial Review. The portfolio will be sold in one line or individually. The property has a net income of $2.2 million approximately.

Region. Expansion by Bunnings

Wesfarmers-owned Bunnings plans multi-level stores in Castle Hill and Smithfield as part of a nationwide expansion. Its latest is the $53 million Chatswood store, which includes 11,600 square metres of floor space over four levels and an underground carpark.

North-West. Bunnings to build largest store

Bunnings has bought 3.4 hectares in the $2 billion Sydney Business Park development, in Marsden Park, for $10.2 million, to build its largest chain store. Owen Walsh, Sydney Business Park’s development director, said it was negotiating with four or five major retailers to set up bulky goods or distribution centres at the site.
