Parramatta. Trade delegation to China

Parramatta City Council Lord Mayor, Paul Garrard, will lead a trade mission to China from September 6 to 14 to promote Parramatta and Western Sydney as a destination for foreign investment and to facilitate commercial opportunities for local businesses.
The delegation will visit Shanghai and Beijing and the city of Yiwu; one of the largest exhibition and distribution centres for commodities in the world. The following businesses will be represented: Asia Business Connection, ANZ Bank, AMP Capital Investors, Cisco Systems, Etienne Lawyers, Grima Recycling, Moore Stephens, Parramatta Advertiser, Pivotal HR, Taurus Trade Finance, Toland Architects, and Zhinar Architects. Clrs Chiang Lim and Michael McDermott will travel with the delegation at their own expense.

Parramatta. Trade mission to China

Moore Stephens, Zhinar Architects, TRM Group, Toland Architects, ANZ Bank, Taurus Trade Finance, Pivotal HR and Grima Recycling are among the businesses included in the Parramatta City Council and the Asia Business Connection trade mission to China, from September 6-14. Austrade and Industry and Investment NSW will provide briefings in China and assist in organising networking opportunities. AMP CEO, Craig Dunn, has offered the support of the Beijing office. Parramatta Lord Mayor, Paul Garrard, has been invited by the Yiwu Government to lead a delegation from Western Sydney to explore opportunities for regional companies to do business with China. The Asia Business Connection, affiliated to the Parramata-based Western Sydney Business Connection, is the only organisation in the Greater West dedicated solely to the development and growth of business in the Asia Pacific region.

Parramatta. Mission to China

Parramatta City Council and the Parramatta-based Asia Business Connection will host an information session, in the Parramatta Town Hall, on Tuesday, March 9, for business people interested in participating in a trade delegation to Yiwu and the World Trade Expo, in Shanghai, in China, from June 19-26. The mission to be lead by Lord Mayor, Paul Garrard, aims to promote Parramatta as a destination for investment and to facilitate commercial opportunities beneficial to the local business community

Parramatta. Trade mission to China

Parramatta City Council Lord Mayor, Paul Garrard, will lead a delegation of business people to Yiwi and Shanghai, in the People’s Republic of China, from June 19-27, to develop closer economic ties The aim of the trade mission is to promote Parramatta as a destination for investment and to facilitate commercial opportunities beneficial to the local business community. The mission's program will include: business matching, both in Yiwu and Shanghai, three days attendance at the World Expo in Shanghai, Chinese Government receptions, meetings and briefings with both Chinese and Australian government and business officials, business networking events, in-market briefings and site visits including visits to Yiwu commodity exhibitions

Parramatta. China trade visit on hold

Parramatta City Council has deferred a decision on a proposed trade mission to China until costs of the trip, from June 19-27, are obtained. The recommendation before council was to approve the attendance of both Lord Mayor, Paul Garrard, and Deputy Lord Mayor, Chiang Lim, to head a delegation of Western Sydney business people to Yiwu and Shanghai. Cr Garrard said grants may be obtained from the federal and state governments. It is understood that some 15 businesses, to date, have expressed interest in attending.
