Region. Lack of economic strategy

An Urban Taskforce Australia report says planning for jobs in Sydney’s fastest growing region, Western Sydney, appears to have been given relatively little energy at the policy level in the past. Jobs growth in Western Sydney over the past 20 years has been driven primarily by population growth and the flow on effects from generally positive economic conditions across the broader Sydney metropolitan area and the nation, rather than through any specific economic development strategy.
