Castle Hill. Company will appeal decision

Gloria Jean's, based at Castle Hill, has confirmed it will appeal a $12.3 million court-ordered bill for breaching a contract with US-based coffee supplier. Jireh International, the company behind Gloria Jean’s, said it was confident it would win the appeal and again lashed out at allegations aired in court it was insolvent. "Recent media reports claiming that Jireh Group is in ‘financial dire straits’ or ‘hopelessly insolvent’ are without foundation and are rejected," Jireh said in a statement.

Castle Hill. Company in "financial dire straits"

The parent company of Gloria Jeans Coffee, co-owned by the Hillsong Church elder Nabi Saleh, is in ''financial dire straits'' and should be put into liquidation and an investigation held into its affairs, the NSW Supreme Court has been told. It is the latest shot fired in the multimillion-dollar lawsuit against the coffee giant's parent company, Jireh International, by a small US-based coffee supplier, Western Export Services, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

Castle Hill. Gloria Jean's in breach of contract

Owners of the Gloria Jean’s Coffee franchise have been ordered, in the Supreme Court, to pay $8.4 million in damages to US coffee exporter, Western Export Services, for breach f contract. Jireh International director, Nabi Saleh, said the company would consider its options. The company, based in Castle Hill, has 917 stores across 35 countries worth about $500 million annually.

Castle Hill. Gloria Jean's denies equity stake

Nabi Saleh, co-owner of Gloria Jean’s Coffees, based in Castle Hill, said in the NSW Supreme Court, he never thought two US exporters had an equity stake in his business. US Coffee exporter, Western Export Services directors, David Cisneros and Steven Meir, are claiming $56 million in damages and unpaid commissions from the company behind Gloria Jean’s, Jireh International, owned by Nabi Saleh and Peter Irvine. The company has 917 stores across 35 companies, according to The Australian Financial Review.

Castle Hill. Gloria Jeans sued for $56 million

Gloria Jean’s Coffees, based in Castle Hill, is facing a multimillion-dollar lawsuit. Owned and run by the Hillsong Church elder, Nabi Saleh and the high-profile church member Peter Irvine, Gloria Jean's parent company, Jireh International, is accused of breaking a joint venture agreement with a small US-based coffee supplier, Western Export Services, which is suing Jireh for $56 million in unpaid commissions and damages. Jireh has launched a cross-claim, saying the 1996 agreement was invalid. In a statement released at the weekend, Jireh International says it will be ''vigorously defending the matter and denies the allegations contained in the claim''. The case begins today (April 19) in the NSW Supreme Court and is expected to run for three weeks, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

Castle Hill. Gloria Jean's Coffees in court

US-based, Western Export Services, a coffee exporter. is suing Jireh International, owner of Gloria Jean’s Coffees, headquartered at Castle Hill, for up to $56 million in damages and unpaid commissions, claiming it broke a joint venture agreement that provided for the exclusive supply of coffee beans. The matter is due to return to the NSW Supreme Court today (Thursday, February 18), according to The Australian Financial Review
