Auburn. Hastie buys fire services firm

The Hastie Group, based at Auburn, has purchased the assets of Spectrum Fire & Security, one of the largest fire services businesses in Australia, with revenues in excess of $100 million a year, a national footprint and over 600 employees. Hastie said the purchase of the company, which went into voluntary administration, would give it a national fire services footprint and boost its expansion into fire protection

Auburn. Hastie Group wins contracts

Hastie Group Limited, in Auburn, a leading international building services and refrigeration systems group, has been awarded two contracts totalling $67 million to provide services for new medical facilities in Cambridge, UK and Melbourne. The latter is a $30 million contract to provide mechanical, hydraulic and electrical services for the new Parkville Neuroscience facility being constructed on the University of Melbourne’s Parkville campus. The project, which will bring together more than 500 research staff from the Florey Neuroscience Institutes, the University of Melbourne and the Mental Health Research Institute, is due for completion in 2011.

Auburn. Hastie Group on acquisition trail

Building maintenance service provider, Hastie Group, at Auburn, which generated $923 million in sales in the first half to December, is on the hunt for acquisitions and contracts after its $77 million capital raising last month, according to The Australian Financial Review.. “Our main focus is organic growth but we are pursuing opportunities as they present themselves,” said MD, David Harris.
