North Ryde. Hospital wins an award

The Private Hospitals Association of Queensland presented Macquarie University Hospital with an award for Innovative Practice in the Private Sector, non-clinical/ operational innovations. The hospital won the award for developing a robust system that manages scanning and automated upload processes for paper of all patient related clinical documents. Currently in Australian hospitals, patient-related documents are stored in a number of places throughout a hospital. "At Macquarie University Hospital our health care information is recorded electronically … to provide information that can be immediately accessed and tracked throughout a patient's journey," Azad Ekmekjian, manager, health information services

North Ryde. New CEO of Macquarie hospital

Carol Bryant, CEO, of Westmead Private Hospital, has been appointed CEO, of the 183-bed state-of-the-art Macquarie University Hospital, opened in June 2010. She will take up her new role in early June when founding CEO, Robert Glynn, steps aside to relocate interstate for family health reasons. Chairman,hospital board, Dr Peter Dodd, said that Ms Bryant's outstanding track record as CEO, of Westmead Private, over the past nine years amply demonstrated her ability to run a leading private hospital in the Sydney area.

North Ryde. Hospital CEO honoured

The Australian Private Hospitals Association has recognised the ‘innovation, drive and determination' that defined, CEO, Evan Rawstron and his team in their successful delivery of Australia's first private university hospital, at Macquarie University. Opening on time and on budget, the Macquarie University Hospital conducted its first operation on June 16, 2010, and has continued to redefine the benchmark for private healthcare in Australia
