Fairfield. $5.5 million interchange upgrade

Minister for Transport John Robertson has announced a $5.5 million upgrade of the Fairfield transport interchange. He said the Fairfield Interchange upgrade is one of several interchanges announced as part of the 2010-2011 Budget to improve rail infrastructure across the network. “Fairfield Station has been identified as being a key transport hub in Sydney’s western suburbs that acts as a major access point to the rail network for buses, cars, bicycles, taxis and pedestrians,” Mr Robertson said. Construction is anticipated to commence in 2011.
