The NRL has scheduled crisis talks with the Cronulla Sharks major sponsor, LG Electronics Australia, based at Eastern Creek, which contributes about $1 million annually, to save the club, according to The Daily Telegraph. The Sydney Morning Herald reports that the Windsor-based Australia Mushroom Growers Association has withdrawn its $15,000 sponsorship.

Yong Nam, CEO and vice-chairman, of Korean electronics giant, LG Electronics, said the company planned to increase its market share in Australia, when visiting the company’s Australia headquarters, at Eastern Creek. “We’re not pulling out of the consumer market, unlike our rivals,” he said in The Australian. Mobile phones and business-to-business would be the big opportunities for growth in Australia, he said.
