Parramatta. DAs approved

Parramatta City Council has approved a DA for the alterations and additions to a licensed restaurant, at 116 Wigram Street, Harris Park, including increasing the seating capacity to 521 persons. A DA has been approved for an educational college for hairdressing and associated hair salon, at 397 Church Street, North Parramatta.

Parramatta. DAs worth $11.2 million approved

Parramatta City Council has approved an application for alterations and additions to an existing vehicle showroom including the construction of a 2-storey showroom at the front of the site and conversion of the existing showroom into a customer car park, at 45 Church Street, Parramatta. Estimated cost of construction: $3.2 million. Council has also approved an application for the construction of a three-storey police station, at 2 Carlton Street, Granville. Estimated cost of construction: $8 million

Parramatta. DAs continue to fall

Although the number of development applications received by Parramatta City Council increased slightly from 252, in the March quarter, to 304, in the June quarter, the development sector continued to remain low with 1269 applications received in 2007/08. “This is the third consecutive year where the number of applications received has fallen. The reduced number of development applications is impacting on revenue forecasts associated with application fees,” a council report said. The number. The number of DAs determined in the June quarter met expectations.

Parramatta. DA processing times down

The greatest improvements in the median processing time for non-domestic development applications, by Parramatta City Council, in the June quarter, were in the mixed-use sector, 44 days (down from 89 days), and the office-building sector, 45 days (down from 86 days), However, the time processing DAs in 2007/08 increased. “This result is unfavourable and is the result of the determination of a large number of applications which have been in the system for some time and have been deferred for redesign. Reforms will be made within the (September) quarter to address the unfavourable result,” a council report said.
