Region. Receivers called in

Australia’s largest listed pub operator, National Leisure & Gaming, has been put into the hands of receivers, PPB Advisory, owing about $180 million. Properties in Western Sydney managed by the company include Bankstown Club Hotel, Campbelltown Club Hotel, Doonside Hotel, Lalor Park Hotel, Lidcombe Hotel, Cabramatta Hotel, Keighery Hotel, Auburn, Mount Druitt Cedars Tavern, Royal Hotel, Granville, St Mary’s Hotel and Wattlegrove Club Hotel.

Region. Pubs on the market

Expressions of interest have been called for O’Connell’s Inn, at Riverstone. The Imperial Hotel, in the Blue Mountains is for sale and the Club Tavern, at Liverpool, will be auctioned on March 18.

Liverpool. Pubs in receivership

Private Sydney-based Community Entertainment Assets, whose portfolio included the Club Hotel and Ground Zero, both in Liverpool, has been placed in receivership because of smoking bans had affected gaming revenues and tightening of credit. Peter Walker, of receivers Ferrier Hodgson, said the pubs were “trading robustly at the moment”, in The Australian Financial Review.
