Riverstone. Hub for sale

The North West Development Hub, of about 235 hectares, at Riverstone, is for sale by receivers McGrathNicol because its owners were unable to secure a major tenant pre-commitment in wake of the global financial crisis, according to The Australian Financial Review.

Riverstone. Investment held up

Businesses in Riverstone say they have lost 20 per cent of their income as people increasingly avoid the town centre because of delays at the level crossing. Major investments such as a new shopping centre cannot progress until decisions are made about the location of a new crossing A Transport NSW spokeswoman said a report into the options should be available for public comment towards the end of the year.

Riverstone. 400 submissions received

The Department of Planning has received almost 400 submissions on the draft plans for Riverstone and Alex Avenue precincts, and is still considering a number of the issues raised in those submissions. The department is working closely with other agencies to ensure precinct planning is coordinated and consistent with other strategic directions of the NSW Government. The department anticipates the Riverstone and Alex Avenue precincts will be rezoned “soon”.

Riverstone. $1b business park exhibition ends

The public exhibition of the proposed $1 billion Riverstone West Precinct the first employment-focused precinct in the NSW Government growth centres, ends on April 15The precinct is proposed to provide enough land for 12,000 jobs via light industrial and general industrial lands and a proposed business park adjacent to the Riverstone Rail Station. The proposal includes up to 250,000 square metres of commercial office floorspace, around 500,000 square metres of industrial floorspace, and a freight transfer facility.
