$500,000 for heritage initiative

Parramatta Lord Mayor, Paul Barber, has applauded the Rudd Labor Government’s provision of $500,000, in the Budget, for a new heritage initiative Parramatta Stories, a series of heritage tours around Parramatta, which will help boost tourism in Parramatta. Parramatta Stories is the first in a three-stage tourism strategy to deliver vast improvements to heritage listed properties and link them with imaginative trails to bring alive specific themes and characters from Parramatta’s past, he said.
