Parramatta. Strategic transport priorities

Parramatta City Council has stepped up its campaign, in conjunction with the community and business groups, “to remind the NSW Government” of the need to advance integrated transport for Parramatta. Council will focus on promoting four strategic transport priorities: lobbying for funding of the West Metro, completing the Parramatta to Chatswood rail link, establishing a full commuter inbound RiverCat services, and supporting commuter networks with parking and bus connections.

Parramatta. 'Treat Parramatta as a city'

Parramatta City Council said train and bus services into the geographical centre of Sydney were unable to cope with the amount of people working for the growing number of corporations relocating to the area. More than 90,000 workers travel to Parramatta local government area every day, with another 20,000 residents, 30,000 workers and 30 new skyscrapers expected in the next 20 years. “We want the Government to start treating Parramatta like the city that it is," Parramatta Lord Mayor, Tony Issa, said in The Daily Telegraph.

Parramatta. Destination Parramatta campaign

Parramatta City Council is to launch a public transport campaign called, Destination Parramatta, in an effort to place pressure on the State Government to regard the city as a destination rather than a departure point. The campaign’s four transport priorities are funding of the West Metro, completion of the Chatswood to Parramatta rail link, creation of a RiverCat commuter service and support for commuter networks, with parking and bus connections into the Parramatta CBD, according to the Parramatta Sun..
