Parramatta. Conference attracts 400 speakers

An international conference hosted by the University of Western Sydney will see experts from Australia and abroad outline new ways to better understand Asia in the Asian Century. The Knowing Asia: Asian Studies in an Asian Century conference will be held at the UWS Parramatta campus from July 11 – 13. More than 400 speakers, including some of Asia's most distinguished thinkers, will address the critical issues now facing one of the fastest changing regions in the world today, and reflect upon the challenges and opportunities Asia poses to Australia.

Parramatta. 400 scholars at conference

Some 400 national and international scholars will attend the 19th biennial conference of the UWS Asian Studies Association of Australia, at the UWS Parramatta campus, on July 11-13. India will be the focus of the event.

Region. UWS convenes confercence

Twenty-first century construction techniques and innovative engineering will be the focus of the International Conference on Steel and Composite Structures (ICSC) convened in Sydney from July 21-23. Conference convenor and head of the UWS's school of engineering, Professor Brian Uy, said this is the first time leading international engineers and researchers will gather in Australia at ICSC to discuss key issues in the steel construction industry. There will be 120 presentations over the three days
