Region. Business skills for creative people

The University of Western Sydney and UWSCollege will offer, in June 2012, 30 creative people the chance to develop the essential business skills of creative people and gain a nationally recognised qualification in creative business management through the new associate degree in Creative industries. Australia’s creative industries sectors are a major driver of the economy, worth an estimated $30 billion dollars with almost 300,000 people directly employed.

Region. Business skills for 'creatives'

Veteran Australian entertainment promoter, Michael Chugg, has officially launched a new program designed to help creative minds gain valuable business skills.The associate degree in creative industries has been developed by UWSCollege to fill a gap in the business education and skills training services available for people already working in creative industries such as film and television, theatre, music, publishing and visual art. UWSCollege, a wholly owned entity of the University of Western Sydney, worked with industry to identify missing or underdeveloped core business, finance, management, legal and communication skills which hold creative professionals back from reaching their full career potential..

Region. UWS signs new agreement

The University of Western Sydney, today, will sign an agreement at the Nirimba Education Precinct, Blacktown campus, with the Department of Education and Training and the Parramatta Catholic Education Office, which will offer up to 15 Year 11 and 12 students a year the opportunity to study university units while at high school. At the ceremony, four students from Terra Sancta College and Wyndham College will be recognised and rewarded for successfully completing university units of study through UWS and UWSCollege.
