Sydney Olympic Park. V8 sponsor soon

The major rights sponsor for the V8 Supercar series to be run at Sydney Olympic Park is expected to be announced in May. A crowd of 150,000 is expected to attend the 3-day spectacular. V8 Supercars Australia will run 250-kilometre races on Saturday and Sunday, for the December 4-6 event. The event is expected to contribute an estimated $100 million to the NSW economy

A NSW Government decision on turning the Sydney Olympic Park precinct into a V8 Supercar street racing circuit is expected by the end of the week, according to V8 Supercar boss, Tony Cochrane. He said the event would not return to Eastern Creek if the decision was negative, and Oran Park closes next year.
