Parramatta. Masters Games in Parramatta

More than 3000 room nights have been booked in Parramatta hotels to accommodate competitors and their families attending The Sydney 2009 World Masters Games, in October. Some 25,000 competitors are expected to attend the 8-day spectacle contributing close to $60 million to the NSW economy, said Tourism Minister, Jodi McKay. Three events will be held in Parramatta. More than 10,000 room nights have been booked in Western Sydney.

Liverpool. CEO of Masters Games to speak

Shane O’Leary, CEO, of the Sydney 2009 World Masters Games Organising Committee, will speak at a Liverpool Chamber of Commerce function, on May 12. He is responsible for the strategic management and leadership of the event which is expected to attract 25,000 people from some 100 countries. He was previously GM, of the Alice Springs Masters Games and the manager, sport and venues, of the Melbourne 2002 World Masters Games. The event will be held at Sydney Olympic Park and other venues in October.
