Parramatta. Arab Film Festival

The Parramatta-based Arab Film Festival Australia, which conducted its first event in 2001, will mount its 2012 season, at the Riverside Theatres, from June 28-July 1, before visiting Melbourne and Canberra. In 2011, over 3000 people from both Arabic and non-Arabic backgrounds attended over 4 days in Parramatta. Strategic partners and supporters include Parramatta City Council, Etihad Airways, Arts NSW, World Media International, Radio 2moro, Port Bar and Restaurant, and the Council of Arab Australian Relations. The festival is managed by Information and Cultural Exchange (ICE), in Parramatta.

Parramatta. Arab Film Festival

The Parramatta-based Arab Film Festival Australia (formerly known as the Sydney Arab Film Festival) will be held from June 30 – July 31. Films have been selected from the Middle East, United States, Europe and Australia. The festival will screen in five locations across the country - its home at Riverside Theatres, in Parramatta, the Sydney CBD, Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide and Brisbane.

Parramatta. Arab Film Festival

The 2010 Arab Film Festival, managed by the Parramatta-based Information and Community Exchange (ICE) will be held from July 1-31 at five venues across the nation. This annual festival showcases stories from Arabic-speaking cultures that reflect the complexity and diversity of Arab communities and experiences. The festival has become an internationally recognised event attracting film entries from all over the world. This year films have been selected from the Middle East, United States, Europe and Australia. The opening night will be July 1, at the Riverside Theatres, in Parramatta.

Parramatta. Film festival 'on a roll'

The 2009 Arab Film Festival, at Riverside Theatres, in July, the sixth to be held, and the first tour of four interstate capitals, have described as a success by festival co-ordinator, Mouna Zaylah, at the Information and Cultural Exchange (ICE) office in Parramatta. Audience figures for the festival were up by 20 per cent, with approximately 40 per cent from non-Arabic-speaking backgrounds. One-third of the patrons came from as far afield as Inner Sydney, Eastern Suburbs and the North Shore, with interstate visitors from Brisbane. The tour to Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane and Adelaide took place in November. Ms Zaylah was pleased with the festival’s first interstate tour. A national marketing campaign would promote the back-to-back festival and tour, in July. “We have a strong organisation and committee whose aim is to make the event more and more sustainable. We are on a roll,” she said

Parramatta. Film festival on national tour

The Parramatta-based Arab Film Festival Australia, formerly the Sydney Arab Film Festival, has hit the national trail with shows in Melbourne, Adelaide , Canberra and Brisbane, following its launch in the Sydney CBD, on November 1. Thousands of film-lovers packed Parramatta’s Riverside Theatre, in July, for its fifth season.

Parramatta. Arab film festival goes national

The Parramatta-based Arab Film Festival Australa, formerly the Sydney Arab Flim Festival, will be developing a national touring program later this year following the launch of its fifth season, on Thursday July 2, 2009, at the Riverside Theatres, Parramatta, with the screening of the first Jordanian feature film to be screened in Australia, Captain Abu Raeed. The national tour will take in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Canberra. The 2008 season attracted an audience of 2200 people..
