Casula. Costco passes first hurdle

Supermarket giant, Costco, has passed the first hurdle to setting up shop in Casula. Costco Warehouse at the Crossroads Homemaker Centre would inject $35 million into the local economy through the construction of the warehouse and create more than 250 full-time positions. In another matter, Mayor Wendy Waller, confirmed plans to attract IKEA to Liverpool.

Liverpool. One of the best in NSW

For the second year running, Liverpool City Council has outstripped other councils in NSW by achieving one of the lowest average development-application processing times in the Sydney metropolitan area. Council took an average of 46 days to deal with a DA, compared to the statewide average of 67 days during the last financial year. The figures in a Department of Planning report, Local Development Performance Monitoring 2009-2010, also showed Liverpool City Council determined almost 1400 development applications in the 2009/2010 financial year, with an estimated value of $299.8 million.

Liverpool. For sale by public tender

A 6-level building, leased with 98 per cent of its NLA 8825 to Housing NSW and blue chip tenants, at 33 Moore Street, Liverpool, is for sale by public tender, on March 23, under instructions from receivers. Net passing income is approximately $2.5 million per year.

Liverpool. Strong growth prospects

Investors and developers have snapped up property worth more than $12 million in Liverpool, amid strong growth forecasts for the overall south-western Sydney market, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. By 2020, the city’s population is expected to swell from 160,000 to 250,000 representing an annual average growth rate of 2.5 per cent, against 0.8 per cent for the Sydney metropolitan area.
