Sydney Olympic Park. Half stake in complex

A fund run by Colonial First State Global Asset Management is to offer a half stake in a $160 million office complex in Sydney Olympic Park. The property comprises two adjoining seven-storey buildings of 32,318 square metres of office space and 1838 square metres of retail space, almost entirely occupied by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

Sydney Olympic Park. Sought after location

Sydney Olympic Park is becoming and extremely sought after location attracting a high calibre of commercial and retail presence. It has more than 13,000 permanent employees, 1000 students, 2500 casual workers and more than 130 businesses, restaurants, cafes, food outlets and sports venues. There are also further significant commercial developments and relocations planned and several under construction, the Sydney Morning Herald said.

Sydney Olympic Park. 8-storey project

The NSW Department of Planning and Infrastructure is considering an application for an 8-storey mixed commercial and retail development of 16,749 square metres with two levels of basement car parking, in Sydney Olympic Park. The retail uses proposed included a 785 square metres ground floor supermarket.

The Department of Planning has on pubic exhibition a proposed mixed, commercial and retail development, at 2 Australia Avenue, Sydney Olympic Park (on the corner of Herb Elliot Avenue). The estimated capital investment is $43.3 million.

Sydney Olympic Park. $1.1 billion in projects

Over the past 10 years, the Sydney Olympic Park Authority has overseen more than $1.1 billion worth of development projects and welcomed more than 120 business and almost 10,000 staff to the 640 hectares it manages. Authority will manage the expansion of the Park to support a daily population of 50,000 and including up to 20,000 daily visitors, under its master plan 2030

Sydney Olympic Park. $7.7m playground

NSW Premier Kristina Keneally has announced a $7.7 million investment in a “mega park” at Blaxland Riverside Park, which adjoins Sydney Olympic Park. The facility will take up an area larger than four football fields and is set to triple the park's capacity to 4800 people a day and turn Blaxland Riverside Park into a mega-park for Western Sydney … this park will take the pressure off the nearby Bicentennial Park, which at peak times can be difficult for families to find a place to play," Ms Keneally said. Families can expect to be able to use the playground from as early as April, with the park expected to be completed by early 2012.

Sydney Olympic Park. New masterplan

The residential and working population of Sydney Olympic Park is to be significantly boosted following the release of the $154 million Sydney Olympic Park Masterplan 2030. Under an earlier plan the population of the park was to house 3000 residents, 10,000 workers and 1000 students. The masterplan proposes a residential population of 14,000, up to 28,500 workers and some 5000 students. The average building height could 25 storeys. The upgrading would comprise nine precincts, one of which would be 16,700 square metres of residential space and 287,300 square metres of commercial space. A sports and education precinct would be home to 5000 students.
