Parramatta. Rescission motion on CBD hotel

Parramatta City Council will consider a rescission motion, on August 10, on council’s refusal to permit for the demolition of the heritage listed hall, restoration of the heritage listed St Peter’s Church and use as a restaurant, construction of a 13 storey hotel with basement car parking for 20 vehicles. The church is on the corner of Church and Palmer streets, in the CBD.

Parramatta. Hotel DA refused again

Parramatta City Council has refused an amended application for the restoration of the heritage-listed St Peter’s Church and its use as a restaurant, and the demolition of an adjacent church hall for the construction of an 11-storey (initially a 13-storey building) with basement parking for 20 vehicles. A reason for the refusal was the maximum height permitted for the site was 24 metres; the height of the amended application was 42 metres.

Parramatta. Review of refusal for CBD hotel

Parramatta City Council is in receipt of an application seeking a review of council’s refusal of a DA, on the corner of Church and Palmer streets, in the CBD.Applicant, Southern Cross Enterprises Group Pty Ltd seeks the review of a project on the former St Peter’s Church site. The DA seeks the demolition of the existing heritage-listed church hall, restoration of the heritage-listed church for use as a restaurant/bar and construction of a 13-storey hotel, containing 50 hotel rooms, conference facilities, gym, pool, & bar over basement car parking for 54 vehicles. Estimated construction cost: $6 million.
